Last night's checkouts are already marked dirty — automatically, the moment each guest left. Housekeeping opens their own portal, works the list, and reception watches rooms turn sellable in real time. Nobody shouts down a corridor; nobody sells a dirty room.
The deposit policy is yours — Pegasus computes it server-side and holds the line. Under-deposited? The desk sees a warning only a manager can override. Booking already past its departure date? Check-in is refused outright. Walk-ins, group arrivals, day-use — each follows its own honest path.
The restaurant POS is linked to the reservation, not a scribbled room number. A room charge posts double-entry onto the guest's folio the moment it's accepted — only for in-house guests, never onto the wrong bill. At checkout, the folio must reach zero before the guest can leave. The docket that used to die in a waiter's pocket is now a ledger line.
Every payment all day was attributed to a named, open shift. So when the evening shift closes, Pegasus already knows what should be in the drawer. The count happens against the ledger, and any variance is recorded — with the shift, the person, and the amount. “The money is short” stops being a mystery and becomes a record.
Night audit sweeps the day: confirmed bookings that never arrived are processed as no-shows — penalty posted, residual routed to the city ledger or a refund, folio settled to zero. Stale inquiries have already expired on their own. The day's numbers are frozen, and the morning report exists before the morning does.
The finance office
“What does the guest owe?”, “what cash came in?”, and “what did we earn?” are three different questions. Software that answers all three from one messy list will lie to you eventually. Pegasus keeps three separate, reconciled views — written by the same ledger.

House rules
Every amount is an integer in kobo — no floating-point drift, no rounding surprises. Rates, folios, statements, and receipts speak naira from the ground up, on a Lagos business day.
No entry is ever edited or deleted. Corrections post reversals, so every adjustment leaves a paper trail your auditor can walk line by line — months later.
Granular permissions decide who can act; the audit trail records who did. Discounts, voids, refunds, rate changes — each carries a person, a timestamp, and a reason.
Cash, transfer, Moniepoint, and cheque tenders. Corporate and government direct billing. Walk-ins with no deposit. Guests emailed automatically, receipts that print. The real front desk, modelled honestly.
